FOR TODAY January 12th 2010
Outside My Window... It is warming up here on the farm. Temps are a high of 25* this morning. To some of you that may be a bit friggid but it has only been in the teens around here lately.
I am thinking... today is going to be a good day. The Lord is my strength and my salvation.
I am thankful for... waking up today without a migrane, the air I breath, the Lord who comforts me, the upcoming health of my family (words of Faith), and the friends that make me smile.
From the learning room... Today we will be taking a trip to the Hay barn to replenish our feeding supplies, go to the library to find books for an upcoming research project, and ending in the kitchen to make Tamarand cloud cookies.
From the kitchen... I smell the coffee brewing, yes today I will have a warm cup of coffee (must replenish my tea stash) to warm me inside and out.
I am wearing... a black pair of cotton/spandex shorts, danskin socks, my night shirt and a smile.
In my Creative art world... I am working on my Life's Alphabet ATC's.

This weekend I worked on 'Count your blessings and Dream' I will post those HERE tomorrow before sending them out.
I am going...TO MAKE TODAY A BETTER DAY.
I am reading... Stonewall Hinkleman and the Battle of Bull Run by Sam Riddleburger ... In this well-paced time-travel novel, smart-aleck Stonewall Hinkleman is not having fun. Named for "Stonewall" Jackson, the 12-year-old spends his summers being dragged to Civil War reenactments by his enthusiastic reenactor parents. This weekend, it's the First Battle of Bull Run. However, he forgot his bugle—a key prop for a bugle boy. He finds a replacement when he meets "Tom," a curious vendor who gives him an authentic-looking instrument and warns him to be careful during the battle. On his way back to his parents, he hears another reenactor, "Senator" Dupree, ranting about how history should be different. If the South had won the war, modern America would be better off. His daughter, Ashby, and Stonewall are disgusted with Dupree's racist attitude, but move on. The next day, when Stonewall sounds the "Charge," he and Ashby find themselves at the actual battle. There, he meets his ancestor, Cyrus, and discovers that Dupree has also been transported and is attempting to reverse the outcome of the fighting. Stonewall, Cyrus, and Ashby have to stop him to prevent American history from being changed forever. Stonewall is a likable character whose attitude changes for the better in the story. Looks like another unit study to me... hehehe
I am hoping... the Lord will bless my husband with overflowing joy, carry me through another day, bring happiness to this house, and creativity to my hands!
Around the house... There is much to do, laundry that hasn't been done in a day or two, dusting, and even painting, but by the grace of God it will all get done.
One of my favorite things... MICE of course, days filled with sunshine, laughter, a happy husband and happy children. Notes in the mail from friends far away, and keeping in touch with my sisters....where ever they may be.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Digging deep into the word of the Lord, continuing to get organized and make this year the best I can possibly make it.
A picture to share...

this is Jacob who used to be Laurie until we realized a Laurie he was not. :-) He is a cutie... isn't he!
Tiny snowflakes

Little tiny snowflakes, blowing here and there. Proves to me, it's cold outside, think I'll stay in here! :-D

FOR TODAY January 4th 2010
Outside My Window... It is a VERY cold morning here on the farm. Temps are only 19*.
I am thinking... how many things I want to improve on this year, how many things I need to get accomplished before the end of the week, and how badly I want my dear hubby to feel better again.
I am thankful for... the air I breath, the Lord who comforts me, the upcoming health of my family (words of Faith), and the friends that make me smile.
From the learning room... Today we I will be recapping our lesson plans to cover what we have missed and reschedule things so that we can get the best out of this school year.
From the kitchen... The children are beginning to prepare lunch (thank goodness I am sooo hungry). We are having a simple lunch today and hubby is still on a light diet. So it is pork n beans and hominy and for some a chef salad.
I am wearing... a black pair of cotton/spandex pants, danskin socks, my Girl Scout leader shirt and have my hair pulled back ready for a day of WORK. heehee
In my Creative art world... I am determined to sketch daily in my art books as well as my daily personal journal. I also want to finish my special GS project.
I am going...TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE as Max Laccado says.

White Christmas?
Well if you were to look out my window today you would say YES but we will see if all this white fluffy stuff will still be here come Christmas.
Enjoy a peek out my window....
At last
Well, I finally get to meet my Grandson! He will be one years old on the 24th and TODAY I will hold him for the first time. I am so excited! We will be picking them ( him and his parents) up at the Airport this evening. They will be spending one week with us! I plan to have one day for a Birthday party for him, one day will be Christmas for us and the rest I will just smother him with lots of love and play time!
Oh to contain the excitment!!!!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
Wanna have fun this Christmas?
Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.
As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world.. Put Christ into their Christmas!
Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.
Here's the address, please don't be rude or crude:
ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York , NY 10004
Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". . . It's always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE!
And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate this message to the ACLU!!!
Let's all mail them on December 7th Monday

FOR TODAY Oct19th 2009
Outside My Window... It is a VERY cold morning here on the farm. Temps in the low 30's and there is a heavy frost on the groung. Gee folks where did Autumn go!
I am thinking... how weird it feels to be cold.!!! I have spent the last several years not feeling cold, EVER and for whatever reason my body has changed and now.. I feel cold and I don't like it hehehe.
I am thankful for... the air I breath, the Lord who comforts me, the heat that keeps me warm, and the friends that make me smile.
From the learning room... Today we will have our lessons at the Library. We will be working on a research paper, Bible, Spelling/Vocabulary, Math, and Art. We will continue reading Chapter's two and three in "The Lost Island of Tamarind" and do the Unit Study lesson.
From the kitchen... It is quiet for the moment. I made myself some Hazelnut Coffee and the aroma filled the house. Mmm tastes wonderful.
I am wearing... a black pair of cotton/spandex shorts, danskin socks, a grey T-shirt with Mickey Mouse all over it.
In my Creative art world... I am working on my special project and dipping into some new techniques for sketching and things.
I am reading...The lost Island of Tamarind... we are reading it for Literature this month and I must read ahead to make the curriculum. It is really a fun book. Highly recommended. For my personal reading pleasure I am reading 'If it weren't for Eve I would be a perfect wife" by Terri Camp (I started reading this a while ago and never finished, this time I will read until the story ends. heehee)
I am hoping... the Lord will bless my husband with overflowing joy, carry me through another day, bring happiness to this house, and creativity to my hands!
Around the house... I am going to try really hard to accomplish a lot this week, as far as the house goes (painting and such) so to have it all FINISHED by Thanksgiving.
One of my favorite things... MICE of course, days filled with sunshine, laughter, a happy husband and happy children. Notes in the mail from friends far away, and keeping in touch with my sisters....where ever they may be.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Continuing to work on a dog kennel that they actually can't escape from, weather proofing the house and building a special place for the winter birds to rest.
Here is picture thought I am sharing..

Just had to share
I was at MagicMart and saw this and just had to share. I think the kids and I laughed for 15 minutes or more. I just love it.. *** By the way... we are hillbillies too!!***

It's a HILL BILLY SCHOOL BUS !!!
Rainy Day Hump Day
Nothing like celebrating the middle of the week with tons of rain. I think we have three inches already since midnight. OH WELL, school continues in any kind of weather.
Today we will have half a day of school and then we will venture into town for the first day of Bowling Club. This is the first time we have joined this club, I hope it goes well. I am praying there will be children there that are the ages of mine. Seems everyone around here puts their kids in Public School for the highschool years. :0(
Anyway, I voluntered to draw up some sketches for T-shirt designs ...
Hope everyone likes them. I will let you know. Guess they had something else in mind! No biggie!
Have a blessed day everyone and remember.... don't forget to get creative.

I am wearing... a black pair of cotton/spandex pants, danskin socks, a grey long sleeved Henley shirt and a sweatshirt.
In my Creative art world... I am 'starting' to create... a very special gift for a special someone. Sorry, can't give out to much information right now.
I am going... to be going to town today to take three of our kittens and their mother to the pet store. These were dropped off about five weeks ago. They are now healthy, chunky and ready to be adopted.
I am reading...The lost Island of Tamarind... we are reading it for Literature this month and I must read ahead to make the curriculum. It is really a fun book. Highly recommended. Around the house... I am working on baby proofing my house so that all will be well when my sweet grandson comes to visit at Thanksgiving time.
One of my favorite things... MICE of course, days filled with sunshine, laughter, a happy husband and happy children. Notes in the mail from friends far away, and keeping in touch with my sisters....where ever they may be.
