Yep, that's what we need, some motivation. We have a ton of things to do around here and no one wants to do them. I could demand that it get done, but that would make me a dictator and cause more problems. I also don't know how to MAKE the older kids do anything they don't want to do. They are old enough now to really make my life miserable when they are angry. They can refuse and I can punish. They don't like the punishments, but it doesn't always make them do what they were being punished for not doing in the first place. The heat is making everyone awful grumpy too and that isn't helping.I could do it all myself, but, no, I really can't. In order for me to do it myself I'd need someone to watch the little ones while I do it. No one wants to do that either so that puts us back to making someone do it and me being a dictator. I'm also not physically capable of doing some of these chores. Sometimes I can pay the kids for big jobs, but we don't have the funds for that right now. I told them that if we get this work done in the next few days that we can all go to the movies. So far they don't really care... sigh. More important than the big jobs that need to be done, is the chores they regularly do need to be done right. I spend my whole day finishing what they start and fixing what they don't do right. I'm really tired of everyone doing half their job and whining when I complain it's not done right. They know how to do it right, they just don't care. DH will be gone for a few weeks with DD2. They are in Alaska for SIL's wedding. DD2 went along because she will be the flower girl. This was really bad for us because we really couldn't afford the trip, but DH was not "allowed" to say no. We really could use DH here right now because we need him to help get the chicken run fixed from the incident the other day. { Last Page } { Page 36 of 84 } { Next Page } |
