Birds and the bees.. well no, just birds.

I need some suggestions.  I would really like to hang my hummingbird feeders up here at our new house but I can't.  The wind here is really strong and the hummingbird feeders spill too easily in the wind. Does anyone know of some wind-proof hummingbird feeders?

Another thing I would like some suggestions with is keeping birds from flying into our sliding glass doors.  Our house is in the middle of nowhere. There are no trees out here or anything.  A few days ago a bird flew in the back door and landed on the microwave stand.  Fortunately the door was open or it would have hit the door on the way in.  The bird had a hard time getting back out of the house hitting the other door a few times before it found the open side.  I'd hate to see any birds hit the door outside when it's closed.  I will have a screen door eventually and that will help with the reflection on the outside from one side of the doors. I was thinking that we should hang some wind chimes from the eves above the sliding glass doors.  Does anyone have any other ideas to make those doors safe for the birds?

I want to put up some bird feeders.  I'd really like them in the back of the house, but I won't do that until we make the sliding doors safe. I think I may put a few feeders out front.  Unfortunately I won't get to watch the birds if they are out front as much as I would if they were out back.

well...

My dad just got a plastic owl for his deck to keep birds off. What about putting one IN your house that way they would be like no way am I flying in there! lol Probably wont work but.

I put a hummingbird feeder this year. My mil has one two so we have two on the property. It is plastic and doesnt seem to spill unless it is upside down. I know! I turned it not thinking! lmbo. Just got it at walmart for 2.88.
