Fresh Turkey at Walmart

{ 02:44, Monday, March 31, 2008 } { Link }

I'm so exited that our Walmart is stocking fresh turkey in their meat department.  We've been getting fresh drumsticks, fresh ground turkey, cutlets and breasts and they are so good and so very cheap.  Wildcat Man (dh) does not like chicken in any form but loves turkey so it works out great and the turkey is even cheaper than chicken is.
I'm not a huge fan of buying at Walmart or any large chain store but for right now we truly have no choice.  There are no local meat markets or small local stores for us to choose from so it's either Kroger or Walmart.  We do quite a bit of shopping at Kroger but I do appreciate Walmart's meat department and they're getting more organic products also, their Omega 3 eggs are only 2.49/dozen where otherwise we would have to pay appr. 4.50 for them.  Last night I also found quite a few organics, including 1/2 and 1/2, I would buy organic cream but can't find that anywhere.
Look forward to one day having a cow and having our own milk, cream etc.  Of course chickens also, one day soon!
Well, lots of errands to run today and then I'm home the rest of the week....that's my favorite part of being a homekeeper....staying home!!!
