A Work in Progress

Update

Today appears to be the last warm day of the year here in southern MI. It's supposed to get up to 80! I am not a fan of the heat and love the fall, so I will definitely be welcoming the 60 degree temps this week :).

I actually posted an update on Friday, but it disappeared and in frustration I gave up. Here's the latest on our little bumpkin... We had an ultrasound on Thursday at the advice of our midwives. Can't say either of us wanted one, but we got it so that the midwives would be more comfortable with some more information. We found that the baby looks great and that everything is just fine. Apparently, according to their calculations, I should be giving birth in the next week or two. I could have told them that lol. Actually, it was reassuring to hear that. We are praying that our little one joins us in the next week or so. It will come when it is time. I have been feeling more pressure and more warm up activities since Friday or so, so that is good news. Last night we went to the grocery store and right as we were leaving I thought something was going to happen, but nope.

In other news... I have not been very diligent in my homesteading ventures as of late. I have been taking afternoon naps, resting and trying to walk and do exercises pretty much all day. Even meals have suffered lately, although I did manage to make a couple of loaves of bread this week. I hope that once the baby is born and we get settled into our new life together that I will have more energy to pick up where I left off months ago.

I was going to try and post a picture at the top here, but that is what deleted my post last time so I will leave it with just text. Our weekend was nice. We rested a lot yesterday. We went to the park and walked the nature trails for a bit and then soaked up some rays. Dh made me some eggs for breakfast yesterday and today we went to the local diner for breakfast. Yum! I am thinking chicken possibly mexican style for dinner tonight, depending on how I am feeling of course. Hopefully I will have a baby is born update to post soon! You all have a good rest of the Sunday.

The last days before baby

{ 02:57, Sunday, September 17, 2006 } { Posted by mamabeart003 }
I remember those days, I didn't do anything but sleep. I felt guilty for not doing anything around the house but then I reminded myself that my body was preparing for one of the most amazing events in life. Get all the rest you can you are going to need it. Once the little bundle has arrived remember to sleep when baby does, everything will get back to it's new normacly soon enough, enjoy those first months of having something so little and precious totally dependant on you.

Rest

Enjoy that uninterrupted rest while you can! You will feel so much better in labor if you aren't exhausted. You will be in my prayers this week.
Take care,
Cathy E
