Wow I have totally neglected the blog this past week. I probably would
have updated early in the week last week if it wasn't for all of the
excitement. Most of this is baby related. Side note: still no baby. So we recalculated my due date and found it to be September 7th - last Thursday. We had a midwife appointment last Tuesday. However, the week before our normal midwife found out that she was going to have to go in on Tuesday and find out if she'd be called up for jury duty or not. So we met with a sort of stand in midwife in case our normal midwife would be in jury duty during the week and I had the baby. In feeling the baby the stand-in midwife thought the baby may be breech. This in my last week of pregnancy. Wow. Neither of our regular midwives or their assistants had even questioned it before this. So then towards the end of our meeting with this midwife, our regular midwife knocks on the door because she got out of jury duty. So... Beth (stand-in) told her that she thought the baby might be breech, so our regular midwife sat down with us to discuss our options. First she felt the baby and found that because the baby was so posterior (a problem we've been having all along) it was hard to feel where the butt and head were at. So she did an internal exam and found that whatever was lying at the bottom of my uterus (head or tush) was not down far enough to get a good reading. Then she suggested going to the chiropractor. So I went to the chiropractor Wednesday - Friday of last week and got some minor readjustments. I am not a big fan of that. Then I went back to see our regular midwife on Thursday to reassess the situation. The baby was not so posterior and was easier to feel. She came to the conclusion that the baby was not breech and that it was just a misunderstanding. So now I need to cancel an ultrasound appointment we have for Wednesday. So that was a relief, a distraction from the waiting for this baby, and quite a fiasco. The midwife did say that I may have too much amniotic fluid (I did not know you could have that problem). So I am not eating any sugars and cutting back on carbs as much as possible - this may or may not help. But apparently the reason the baby is flipping back and forth between posterior and anterior so much is because of the amount of fluids in there. Although, it feels as though there may be less, so maybe this no sugar/carbs thing is working out, although I can't wait for that to be over :). My husband said I could have a cinnamon roll and pizza after the baby is born :). Now we are continuing to wait. I have had some more intense warm up contractions over the weekend, so we are hoping my body will finally catch on and decide to deliver this baby. We shall see. It seems as though I have been pregnant forever and all I want to do is meet this little one. Thank you Cathy E. for checking in. It was a good push to post an update. I will let you all know if anything else happens. Have a wonderful day! { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 39 of 56 } { Next Page } |
