Frost

Yep -- 85 on Tuesday, frost last night!  We were warned and had things covered, but it appears that some of my little plants still got damaged.  Oddly enough, my little tomatoes and peppers -- inside a plastic cover (you know, one of those miniature greenhouse things) -- look frost-damaged.  I thought that being covered was protection enough.  I just hope they have enough umph to recover.

On a different subject, I have just recently begun leading a Created to Be His Help Meet study group at a nearby church.  8 women are attending with a possible addition.  I've never led a group before and find it an intimidating and growing experience.  I've already discovered (after our first meeting) that I do not think well "on my feet" and thus need lots of notes ahead of time.  But I find myself already learning more from the book than I did in 3 years of reading and re-reading it on my own.

While I'd love to chat away the afternoon, I must go administer required annual testing to my oh-so-thrilled Bug.  I'm going in armed, tho, with the recently acquired knowledge that she's been manipulating me for the last 3-4 or so years with emotional breakdowns in order to get out of whatever she didn't feel like doing.  When I stayed strong yesterday, didn't give in, expected her to do the work if it took all night, suddenly before my very eyes, she transformed into the brilliant girl I knew she was who could accomplish her work diligently and knowledgeably.  It was an amazing thing to watch happen.  And she's been much happier ever since.  Wierd...and GREAT!

It's cold here, too! Brrr. I had to put plastic bags on top of my blueberry bushes. All the other plants I'm leaving to chance.
Hope your dd did well with her testing! We tested last year and didn't have to this year, thank goodness. Holly

They say frost again tonight. It's cloudy and they may be wrong, but...

About Me

Whoso loves believes the impossible.

We are not called to get love,
but to give unstintingly and joyously,
life-giving agape love to those the Lord has surrounded us with.

Yay! I'm a daisy, my favorite flower!!

I am a
Daisy

What Flower
Are You?

Just as a flashlight draws power from its batteries,
we draw power from the Son of God.
As light, we dissipate fear, bring relief and lift spirits.
We don't even have to be big to be effective.
We just have to be "on".
Today, let's pursue that which is good,
right and truthful by shining through darkened circumstances.
Don't keep the switch off
or hold back as though our batteries have run down.
Our source is the glorious

"Light Invisible."

Being switched on pleases the Lord.
Stay on.
Stay bright.
