chick, chick there. Yea! Our chickens are scheduled to arrive next Tuesday, April 24. Our first real farm animals! (not counting the dogs :)) I ordered 25 Buff Orpingtons, because they are said to be very mild mannered, and 25 Rhode Island Reds for my father-in-law's tradition. We did straight run, planning to butcher all but 1 or 2 roosters. Oh--I'm so excited!!

They didn't arrive! I called the hatchery and it turns out the types I ordered are a couple days behind the others. Hopefully, ...Thursday! We feel like expectant parents that just had a false alarm trip to the hospital!
