Turn, Turn, Turn, There Is A Season

...and in MN, ya just never know what that season is.  I love it!!  I always want to say, "WELCOME TO MINNESOTA!" just like the abominable snow man in Monsters Inc. shouts "WELCOME TO THE HIMALAYAS!"  So, want a snow cone?  A week ago, my mother-in-law was painting their deck while my father-in-law uncovered their tulips; my husband assigned me to pick out what chickens we'd order this year while he started prep of the shed we intend to use for them (the chickens, that is).  And what to our wondering eyes should appear?  Yep -- winter wonderland, of the sort we would have liked back in December.  My husband wished the kids "Merry Christmas" this morning which made Son(5) anxious to get the tree out with some presents under it.  He was quite disappointed that we weren't cancelling school in order to make presents.  My funny boy!

Fortunately, my seedlings are unaware of the weather outside.  I have tomatoes, onions, cauliflower, alyssum and sweet william up with, hopefully, some peppers soon to follow.  I'll be starting a few more things this weekend.  Bigger, viney things will wait till later in April, I think.  We usually aren't completely safe putting things out until the first of June; my first year I put things out mid-May and had to cover with newspapers several nights.

About Me

Whoso loves believes the impossible.
--Elizabeth Barrett Browning

We are not called to get love,
but to give unstintingly and joyously,
life-giving agape love to those the Lord has surrounded us with.

Yay! I'm a daisy, my favorite flower!!

I am a
Daisy

What Flower
Are You?

Just as a flashlight draws power from its batteries,
we draw power from the Son of God.
As light, we dissipate fear, bring relief and lift spirits.
We don't even have to be big to be effective.
We just have to be "on".
Today, let's pursue that which is good,
right and truthful by shining through darkened circumstances.
Don't keep the switch off
or hold back as though our batteries have run down.
Our source is the glorious

"Light Invisible."

Being switched on pleases the Lord.
Stay on.
Stay bright.
