My son

I haven't posted very much in a while, partly due to lack of time and partly blogger's block.  I will think of numerous things I want to write, but when I sit down to the computer, my brain comes up with "uuuuhhhh, mmmmmmm, ehhhhhhhh," which is of very little interest to anyone, myself included.

My son,
who has the cutest smile God ever put between dimples,
will turn 5 on Thursday.  5 years!!!  I can't believe I've already had that much time to hold & know him.  His party needs to reflect his current loves which are dinosaurs and anything else big with sharp teeth and things that make loud booming noises, particularly if they're used to hunt the things with sharp teeth.  A true future hero!  Therefore, I'm planning to make a volcano cake for him with some of his toy dinosaurs around it.  He will be thrilled; I just hope it's recognizable.  I'm notorious for unrecognizable blobs of frosting presented to the kids as birthday cakes.  I get similar reactions to those we give our 2-year-olds when they bring us an elaborate picture --of a blob-- that they're very proud of.  "Oh!ooohh. this is...well, what is this yellow part here? oh, the lights, of course!"  But I figure a volcano is supposed to look like a big black/brown/red/orange runny blob, so I should do great.  That's my specialty!

Happy Birthday to your son! Have fun making the volcano cake! I usually make the birthday cakes for my brothers and sisters and I would like to get into more creative cake making.

About Me

Whoso loves believes the impossible.
--Elizabeth Barrett Browning

We are not called to get love,
but to give unstintingly and joyously,
life-giving agape love to those the Lord has surrounded us with.

Yay! I'm a daisy, my favorite flower!!

I am a
Daisy

What Flower
Are You?

Just as a flashlight draws power from its batteries,
we draw power from the Son of God.
As light, we dissipate fear, bring relief and lift spirits.
We don't even have to be big to be effective.
We just have to be "on".
Today, let's pursue that which is good,
right and truthful by shining through darkened circumstances.
Don't keep the switch off
or hold back as though our batteries have run down.
Our source is the glorious

"Light Invisible."

Being switched on pleases the Lord.
Stay on.
Stay bright.
