WALMART

I am a Walmart-aholic.  Love the place, the prices, the availability.  I support the free market economics that allows them to thrive.

BUT it looks like my attachment is about to be broken.  I recently heard from relatives that the American Family Association, among others, released a report on Walmart's endorsement of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.  I read about that and their support of a Diversity week (here), and all I can say is, "RATS!"         I really like(d) Walmart, but I won't support this.  I'm sure we'll be writing or calling to let them know they've lost our (very regular) business.  We'll buy at our locally-owned stores and pay a little more, but know we're not paying for our Christian heritage and values to be degraded and destroyed.

Amen sister!!! We also have decided against Walmart. They have been on a downward slide in our book anyway, but this was the probverbial straw that broke the camels back.

I have just moved to a smaller community and WalMart is the only store with prices I feel that I can afford for most of my shopping. (Am retired and now have a very limited income). But, I hear you!!
It is hard to know what stores to support anymore. There is so much support for the "freedom of expression" - except when it comes to Christian beliefs. A gay men's choral group is coming to our town soon and many of the local business are selling the tickets for it. One is a small, used book store that I found. Now, do I avoid the store or not??

My mother works at one....

She was there when they set up in our hometown several years ago. I won't shop at walmart because the company who says they are for family, Don't even blink twice about overworking and underpaying their employees.

My mother works at their beckon call and while she has so much seniority that she is able to have lots of days off, they have to be when they specify. No Christmas time...in fact, she has christmas off but has to go in that night in order to prepare the sales that most of the public likes to hit the next day.

She was department manager when a new assistant manager "newly trained" beat her down emotionally and is now trying to get my mother to take a management position after she resigned as department manager. Now that she makes more than most of the employees there today (nobody stays more than two years usually) they are trying to corner her into taking management to work like she gets paid.

They even made new rules last week for employees that will ONLY allow them 3 sick days in 6 months (my mom doesn't use sick days, but what if she were hospitalized?). They also won't give personal days without a 3week notice which sounds illegal and fishy to me.

Walmart isn't what they are cracked up to be ladies and gentlemen! In fact, they are so big they feel they can't be stopped.

I refuse to shop there and won't no matter how cheap they make their products. Majority of hose cheap products were maid with child labor and their business practices along with employee loyalty are disappointing. Not to mention they corner mom and pop business who make quality to close down or barely make it because they have to compete with the company.

Most walmarts are now changing. They have remodeled ours here in Ohio and in Upstate NY as well. They are trying to compete with Target where I shop but they will NEVER meet Targets customer service or their neat clearances on the inside of the Aisles.

Thanks again for this article!

I do understand . . . .

. . . the problem.
However, the problem is MUCH bigger than Walmart.

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52052

It's huge. The company that treated my dad well for 25 years is on this list. Our phone company. Pepsico. Best Buy. Our health insurance provider. Coke. We have a Dell computer. The Google search engine I used to find this list. Kraft foods. Microsoft. Levi Straus. Nike. Sears. Wirlpool. Walgreens. Our mortgage company . . . . Nextell. Ford. Liz Claiborne.

My problem is, if I were to decide to boycott the gay-friendly, I would have no where to shop, and little I would trust myself to buy . . . :(

Yay! I'm a daisy, my favorite flower!!

I am a
Daisy

What Flower
Are You?

Just as a flashlight draws power from its batteries,
we draw power from the Son of God.
As light, we dissipate fear, bring relief and lift spirits.
We don't even have to be big to be effective.
We just have to be "on".
Today, let's pursue that which is good,
right and truthful by shining through darkened circumstances.
Don't keep the switch off
or hold back as though our batteries have run down.
Our source is the glorious

"Light Invisible."

Being switched on pleases the Lord.
Stay on.
Stay bright.
