Thanksgiving

I've disappeared for so long that anyone interested has probably moved on to more consistent bloggers.  Sorry 'bout that.  Right around the last time I blogged, the garden & harvest (canning) began to progressively require more and more of my time.  However, I'm pleased (ecstatic would be a better word) to announce that the harvest is in!!  I put away the last of my canning tools this weekend.  (I may have to bring it out again if husband gets a deer, but --cross that bridge when we come to it.)  Our cold storage and freezer are full.  I put up an unbelievable amount of jellies, jams & syrups -- 120 jars!!  Guess what all our friends -- and neighbors -- and acquaintances -- and total strangers on the street are getting for Christmas?!  I also put up 60 quarts of tomato sauce, 24 of pie apples, and a bunch of crabapplesauce and green beans (don't remember those numbers).  We are so thankful!  About mid-summer we were feeling doubtful of getting much of anything due to strange weather patterns, but here we sit abundantly overflowing, thanks to God (and some donations from friends).
Today was a wonderful time of getting back in normal routines, starting back to full time school, getting caught up on some cleaning.  Ahhh -- I can breathe again!

I bet that you are ready for a *breather.* Sounds like you've been really busy with a lot of rewards :- )

You have been busy. I put up my canner but I picked so many japenese persimmons today. Not sure what I will do with them. I have found several recipes. I will have to get out the canner and jars. PTL! I

About Me

Whoso loves believes the impossible.
--Elizabeth Barrett Browning

We are not called to get love,
but to give unstintingly and joyously,
life-giving agape love to those the Lord has surrounded us with.

Yay! I'm a daisy, my favorite flower!!

I am a
Daisy

What Flower
Are You?

Just as a flashlight draws power from its batteries,
we draw power from the Son of God.
As light, we dissipate fear, bring relief and lift spirits.
We don't even have to be big to be effective.
We just have to be "on".
Today, let's pursue that which is good,
right and truthful by shining through darkened circumstances.
Don't keep the switch off
or hold back as though our batteries have run down.
Our source is the glorious

"Light Invisible."

Being switched on pleases the Lord.
Stay on.
Stay bright.
