The View from my desk - WITH PICTURES TOO!!!
This is what life is all about...
I wrote this on St. Patty's day but the HSB was dead. So I am reposting it here again.
It is early in the morning and I am sitting here reading the different emails, blogs, websites and forums. I look forward to my Saturday morning with a good cup of coffee.
It is St. Patty’s Day, and I don’t have any green on. So when my kids get up, I will probably get a pinch. But that is the fun of it all; they “get to get one over on Dad.”
I enjoy this time of day. I have my quiet time with God, answer my emails, check on our critters and feed the dogs.
I was wondering, does anyone else who homesteads have the same view as I do from my desk?
We have our baby chicks on the dinning room table. Our Jack Russell is all enthralled with the action going on in the cage. It reminds me of “Saturday Morning Cartoons” for dogs. He watches with all intent.

Our rabbit is basking in the morning sun. From time to time he munches on greens, a carrot and the rabbit feed I gave him this morning.

Our shepherd is hanging out with our “Wal-mart” dog “Sonny.” We call Sonny our Wal-mart dog because we had “sucker” stamped on our foreheads that day when a lady was trying to find her a good home. Well she did, and Sonny has been part of the family for 5 years now. Our Shepherd has done his rounds outside making sure all is ok, sound and secure then goes and makes himself comfortable on the family room couch.

The kids are still asleep and my wonderful wife is on her computer IMing me “I love you.” Funny thing is that she is sitting right behind me on her laptop. I turn in my chair and give her a kiss and tell her “I love you too sweetie.” I then give her some love pinches because she does not have green on this morning.. it is after all St. Patty’s Day.
Folks, this is the life. I wish all of you mornings like this.

LOL....oh yes, we have had similar views here ourselves..our chicks all resided in the play pen brooder in the living room and we had goat babies in a play pen near the woodstove in the kitchen for several days.
And the Wal-Mart dogs...LOL...had to laugh at that one. We relocated here to Mississippi with only our 2 dogs and have since 'adopted' 5 more.....yes, there does seem to be a sucker born every minute!

We seem to have acquired all of our pets that way....being sucked into it! I had to chuckle at your chicks "so cute" on your dining room table. One thing about chicks is that they *grow so fast*! One year we had 20 chicks in the kitchen...and in a matter of 2 weeks, they went form one very large bin to 4 vary large bins! This was over Christmas, because I was eager to get some, so getting them outside was not an option. Nothing like baking Xmas cookies to the tune of 20 loud chicks peeping to "Jingle Bells" lol
