Playing Tag...

I actually read about this on another blog and then with to Ray's blog to read his.

Ray Says..."I hear so little about people playing music here, and I would love to hear about more."

Ray asked about what we remember most.

Irish pubs.

I miss the sound of Irish folk music or a lone guitar player leading the entire pub in a round of "The Wild Rover."  The sounds of laughter and people greeting friends as they come in. The ballads of days gone by and lands far away.

If you close your eyes and listen, you can almost hear the singing.. the fiddle.. the guitar.
That is the music I miss.

Timely too, being it is St. Patricks day tomorrow.

i was going to ask generally, but you seem like a good candidate - I love irish music, but cannot find a good album! any recommendations?

Ray, if you go to the free link below and then click "World / International" there is a sub-section called Celtic, it plays nothing but Irish music.

We have a little Irish restuarant/pub in our town with music and everyone will sit around and sing all the good songs and ballads. My grandfather was Irish and as a child I would remember him sing those songs in his deep voice...aaah, thanks for bringing about such a nice memory :)
