Lilac is gone...
Posted in Critters Big and Small
our poor cow didn't make it. The calf was too big for her to deliver. Everything was going fine and then suddenly her breathing changed and she was dead in less than a minute.
We called Mr. Maxwell to let him know and he told us that he also lost a cow because the calf was too big. They even called the vet out, but the vet couldn't do anything to save the mama or the baby. So, really nothing could have been done for either of them.
The kids were a little sad, but they are fine now.
You know this is just how it is on a farm. Sometimes things go wrong and an animal dies.
We told Mr. Maxwell that we want to get another cow from him. So, we are looking at buying one next month.

Sorry to hear about your cow. I hope you find a good one to replace her.
