Building a fence

Posted in Around the Homestead

In theory it really doesn't seem like it could take too long, but in reality it is longer than one thinks.  Well, at least longer than I thought.
So, we bought the materials needed to build the fence around the house, and it is happening.
Brandon and Taylor put in the T posts a couple of weeks ago.  This was after we found out that we had strep for the second time.  As I was saying, they put in the T Posts and cemented the wood posts for the gates that we also wanted.
Today, Brandon went and bought the last thing we needed which was the fencing...field fence to be precise.
My men were able to put up half of the fence.  They will finish the rest of it up tomorrow!  We are just so excited because the kids will have a place to play without the big animals around.  We will be able to keep Jose and Josie in the fence as well and will not have to worry about them going to bother the neighbors!  We are going to be able to plant a garden and not have to worry about the cow or the horse eating something that is meant for our palette, not theirs!  Yes, it is happening and it should be done by tomorrow!
I have a few pictures of the boys putting in the t posts for your enjoyment.

Here is one of the stall that we tore down so we can use the wood to make a new chicken coop.

This is Tristen, Tyme, and Wesley Thomas taking the nails out of the stall wood.

Chickens doing their thing.

Finally the older kids with their new boots.  This one is for you mom!
