House Full of Germs

Well, let me just start by saying that this house is just full of germs. How or where we got them I am do not know, but I hope that they are moving out soon. On the first day of Advent we went to Mass, and oh it was wonderful to be there. Then afterwards we went to Gabriella's Godparents house for lunch, dinner, and a nice visit. So, we got home late, but it was worth it. On Monday morning is when the germs let us know that they were paying the Williams family a nice long visit. Wasn't that just so kind of them? Teresa started vomiting and didn't stop for at least half of the day. She was miserable, which translates into her being a cranky little one year old. So, by Tuesday she was not vomiting, no dry heaves, still clingy, still pale, but we thought it was over. Wednesday same thing and low and behold...can you believe it...there were no other sick children in the house. We finally started breathing and were thankful that the menacing germs only got there fangs into just one child. What a sigh of relief...but boy were we wrong! Thursday morning, which was also the feast day of St. Nicholas(you can go St. Nicholas Center to find out more about St. Nicholas), was the day that the sneaky germs showed their faces among the rest of the Williams children. At least the kids enjoyed their candy...for a little while. It was utter chaos, and I mean chaos. Vomiting was done anywhere and everywhere. Children were running to the bathroom with trashcans, children were vomiting off of the front porch, it was just a free fall. I have to say not coming from a big family, it was just my brother and I, that it was a scary sight! Then, by that evening guess whose tummy starts to feel bad...yep mom's. The germs had a plan and it was a good one. Their plan was to attack the children first, then hit mom last so the house would fall into ruins by the time she felt better!! The nerve! I am happy to report that I fought them off...tooth and nail. I was also begging God, that if he wanted me to get sick I was fine with that, but just to please wait until the kids were no longer puking. Praise be to God he did better than that...he let me feel sick, but I never got sick! I just had an upset stomach and a headache that just wouldn't go away. I can live with that! So, the second Sunday of Advent rolled around and I was starting to really feel bad. We didn't make it to Mass that day, and I am glad that we didn't go because Wesley Thomas decided that he needed to throwup some more. Teresa also decided to join in with her older brother. I felt yucky off and on all week, but I was going to make it untouched...right? Well the answer to that question is no. I woke up yesterday, ears stopped up, throat hurting(worse than the day before), face numb yet tingling, and my top teeth were just not right. As my mom said they felt like they were going to fall out. So, I made an appointment for my sinus issues. The children all had to come with me because they had been trapped inside for over a full week. Thank goodness the Dr. didn't care that a sick woman with her seven children were in the room waiting. I got my meds. and home we went. Now, I think we can breath a sigh of relief...I think it is finally over...right?? Oh, some wonderful news...the test results came back negative for Gabriella! Thank you God! |
