Back from Texas

Well, the kids and I went to Texas to visit family. We didn't do the tour of Texas so we didn't see everyone. We have family that lives in Houston, Corpus Christi, Arlington, Santo, and the list just keeps on going. I did get to go and see my grandparents, and that was nice. My grandmother has dementia so she thought I was my mother most of the time, but she did know it was me early in the morning. I am so thankful that Brandon talked me into going. For all I know my grandmother may not know me anymore by next year. So, it was nice to go and chat with her and hear her talk about some of her childhood. While we were gone Brandon helped a friend of us move some of his outside things to our place. He has his house up for sell and wanted to clean it up as much as he could for when people come to look at it. Our grape plants are doing quite well. Sad to say the raspberries are looking...well like they are not going to make it. Yesterday we butchered the remaining meat birds, and we ate 2 of them for dinner. They had a different texture than store bought chickens, but they were so delicious. I must admit that I was worried that I wouldn't be able to eat them, but I was wrong. I had no problem at all, and neither did the kids. We will be pretty busy the next few weeks...actually for the remainder of the month so I am not sure how much I will post.
