I am home!

Good morning...

I am doing well this morning. I got to the hospital at my designated time of 10:30 AM yesterday. They didn't come for me until nearly 1:30. It was sort of strange. Typically, for outpatient surgery, after you are checked in they take you to a room, have you change to a hosptial gown, get in bed and then go through the paperwork. Well, there were no beds in the preop area. So I just sat in a chair for the 3 hours prior to my surgery. In hindsight, I think this was good for me because by the time I got to the holding room and into surgery, I was so tried and hungry I was actually looking forward to a little sleep. I took my knitting and that was a great thing because it kept my hands bust for a while. My operation is only a 20 minute procedure. I didn't get into the OR until 2:30. I have a vague recollection of them trying to move me off the operatnig table and on to the gurney. After that, not much. I was nausous despite the patch that they gave me before surgery. After upping my IV fluids and giving me two more drugs for nausea, I did feel better. I was back home by 7 PM.

The children did great. My mom was here in the morning and afternoon. My dad came by for supper and then stayed until we  returned. They all went to the Pizza Hut for the Wednesday night buffet. This morning a dear friend of mine from church is coming to pick up the children. They will be staying at her house today and tomorrow. She did offer Saturday as well, but I think we will just have them come back tomorrow for supper.

I am planning to lay low. I finished cutting out another PJ pattern for Brianna this time. I think sewing would be a nice easy activity. I am also considering diving into my Beverly Lewis books. I had been putting them off waiting for part 3 to be released, but since I have the time I could read them now.

My throat feels a little dry this morning, but that is about it. Water helps the most. I am on voice rest 5 days instead of 3. I think that is best considering that my opertions was bilateral (both sides of the cords). Doctor did make my talk to him in the recovery room, so he could hear how it sounded. I have no recollection of how it came out. I'll have to wait until Monday.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Jennie
