First, I would like to thank you all for your iron suggestions. I have good news. Somehow, my iron has resurrected itself. After two days of not being able to turn it on, I went in, plugged it in, and it turned on. I have used it successfully since then. The Lord truly knows our needs. I do realize that it is on its last legs, so I am keeping my eyes open for a deal. I was blessed to spend this afternoon with my dear friends, Linda and Barb. Linda moved away from our area 4 years ago. Since she left, the Lord has blessed her with two more beautiful children. We had a total of thriteen children here between three moms. I sure miss not being able to hang out together more often. We used to do that on a very regular basis before they moved. The garden is growing well. I had to throw every extra piece of fence that I had around my garden because those lovely white tails were helping themselves to my strawberry and potato plants. I filled in most of my potato beds. I ran out of soil. I know I am running out of time because they are nearly ready to flower. Everything else seems really small, but hopefully it will take off soon. My sad tomato plants have made a great come back. Oh, another blessing regarding the fencing. As I was putting up the mesh fencing that I had left from last year, I discovered I would be about 40 feet short. Not 10 minutes later my neighbor came over and offered me his old chicken wire. It was the rustiest stuff I have seen, but it worked. I hung it up on the 6 foot t-posts. It did the job. Again, the Lord does know our needs. We did have a sad moment this week as my daughter lost one more of her pet mice. This is the second one in two months. We have not even had these critters a year yet. We did expect to get more time with them. They other six are doing fine. Only one is part of the original purchase. The other 5 were surprises from buying a pregnant female. We had no idea. Have a wonderful Friday on your homestead. Jennie |
