We spent the day at the farm. I finished planting the pepper, cabbage, broccoli and brussel sprouts. The lettuce is in as well as most of the cucumbers. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, the beans and peas will go in. Rich needs to set up the trellis for me first.
Rich did some mowing. The land is looking a bit more groomed each time he mows. I also noticed that he's looking at the vineyard and mentioning the 600+ vines (approx. 1 acre) we need to get into the ground yet. I remember the labor intensive planting of the first 2 acres last year. At least this year its only half the amount.
I did have time to make rhubarb cake. At this time of year in Minnesota, about the only things we can harvest are rhubarb and asparagus. The cake was yummy! Speaking of which, I think I'll have another piece.
Goodnight!

As for your question about our grapes, we have 3 varieties- one white, one red and one black. I don't recall their names but we have them written down somewhere. It was a package deal from the catalog. We also have muscadines in the woods but they grow so very high that we seldom see any in the house. We're really looking forward to harvesting some wild blueberries this year. We never really noticed them before and they seem to be thriving. So exciting!
