From Town to Country: A Wife's Tale

Today we ran errands in the "city".  I ordered a few bantum chicks as my SIL wanted a few and so did I, so we combined an order.

We headed out to the farm for supper tonight as Madison's 4H club met tonight and its just up the road 1/4 mile.  I found a gal with a couple extra roosters and a few adult bantums that she said I could have when I get a chance to go out and get them.  It will be so nice to have a rooster again.  I lost my Benjamin Franklin this winter  so I need to replace him if I want any chicks this year.  So I'll be calling Karen in the next week or so and see about heading her way.

Karen also mentioned that occasionally they have a runt piglet or 2 that we could have.  Oh what fun that would be!  So I'm hoping they will keep us in mind should they have any.

Oh yeah, before I forget... Rich changed our goat cam to chicken cam.  You can now see my broiler chickens on cam as Gunnie is now in the barn and doing great!

Gunner is doing well too.  He loves to run around in the house and Ellie makes a pretty good foster mom.  Madison had him out on the deck for 30 minutes and he loved it.   I'm hoping to get him into the barn for a few minutes each day to run with the other kids so he learns to be a goat!

Well, I'm tired.  I haven't slept since yesterday before I went to work. Goodnight
Carol

About Me

We've been working on the family farm for 3 years trying to get it back to a working farm. The farm was neglected for 15+ years before we took it on. The summer of 2008 is our family's first experience living in the country, so began our journey from town to country...
