Once again my day was filled with cleaning and rearranging critters. I started with getting rid of Gunner's little box and he now has free range of the kennel he calls home. He's been busy practicing standing and walking. He sure knows how to poop and pee! lol
Next, we tackled the rabbits. Every bunny went outside today. That took a bit of work getting all the cages set up for them. We've never had so many rabbits at one time before. I want them set up in their cages so when we move them to the farm we are not playing musical cages. All we have to do is load cages here and unload cages at the farm. Sounds organized enough, doesn't it?
Then it was on to cleaning the poultry brooders. Oh man, they sure do poop a lot! UGH!! I increased the size of the broiler brooder. They have more room now which should made them happier.
Last, we cleaned the 55 gallon fish tank that is housing my pond fish for the winter. Well, just the ones that were born/hatched last summer. The older fish are in a stock tank.
Rich finished my new brooder box yesterday so once we get the temps correct on it, the broilers will be moving into the chicken coop and the layers will move into the coop in the barn. For now, ducks and turkeys will remain in their current accomendations.
We also baked a cake for Madison's birthday party tomorrow. Since she took a cake decorating class for 4H, she decided to bake/decorate her own cake. We did a few other party preps for tomorrow as well. The turkey is roasted and deboned for sandwiches, salad made and beverages ready. That wil make my day easier tomorrow.
Rich spent the day at the farm. He called me to say he was the first one in the fields in our area. He was testing the digger so I don't know if that really counts or not. He's also started on fencing in more pasture area so the goats, sheep and llamas have more room to roam. I was thinking about putting my broilers on pasture but not sure exactly how to do it. I think they should follow the animals as we move them from pasture to pasture. I think Rich said something about paddocks. He's drawn me maps and pictures, but to be honest, until I actually see the fencing/gates and whatever I can't really visualize it.
Well, I'm tired! Tomorrow we are moving Gunnie to the farm after Madison's party. So I better rest my muscles! lol
