From Town to Country: A Wife's Tale

• Friday, April 4, 2008 - KIDS!

Posted in Animals

You guessed it, Hillary kidded early this morning.  She had triplets, unfortunately, we lost one doeling.  The 2 surviving kids are a doe and buckling and oh soo cute!

I know that isn't a great pic but its all I had time for as Hillary came down with pneumonia and I had to tend to her.  I promise I'll get some better pics of them.

They are so cute! I am sorry about the loss, it is hard when you lose an animal. I can't wait to see more pictures. God Bless. mj

What cute kids, love that paint! If she was groaning while laying down before kidding, it may have just been uncomfortable sounds? I have some that do that. Is she eating? Does she have a temp? If it is pneumonia, she needs 6 cc of Nuflor the first day and 3 each day following for 5 days. You must follow through or she may relapse and you would probably lose her that time. If you can not get Nuflor you can use Penicillin. Let me know how she is doing please.

About Me

We've been working on the family farm for 3 years trying to get it back to a working farm. The farm was neglected for 15+ years before we took it on. The summer of 2008 is our family's first experience living in the country, so began our journey from town to country...
