From Town to Country: A Wife's Tale

• Sunday, March 9, 2008 - Chicks are coming

Posted in Farm

I just received a phone call from the regional post office (yes, on a Sunday morning) to inform me my chicks are here from McMurray's Hatchery. So we are off to the big city to get my babies, yippee!  I know, a grown woman shouldn't get so excited about little chicks.  This is the second year I've ordered chicks.  I was just as excited last year.

This means that spring is coming, right?  Babies bunnies and chicks = spring, although you'd never guess that from looking out our windows.  We must have gotten 2 inches of snow yesterday and they are saying we are to get more today.  This is a peek out our window from yesterday.

I'll post some pictures of the new babies after we get them settled in.

Chicks are fun as you know. I miss our 2 hens; I gave them to a country home because they were too much work in town for me. God bless ! Jill

Thanks so much. They all arrived safe and sound and are busy being chicks and making lots of noise.

About Me

We've been working on the family farm for 3 years trying to get it back to a working farm. The farm was neglected for 15+ years before we took it on. The summer of 2008 is our family's first experience living in the country, so began our journey from town to country...
