This is from my journal at the farm. Its probably a late entry. I may make several entries a day to try to keep up with the backlog of entries I have.
The 3rd Sunday in July brings the family reunion of Rich's parternal grandmother. If I remember right I do believe she had 7 or 8 siblings, only 2 are still with us. The crowd gets smaller each year. It seems the younger generations just aren't interested or live so far away.
We were unable to attend as Chas was having a really bad day. As many of you know, her disabilities cause some undesirable behaviors which sometimes prevent us from going some place. I can't wait until her physical in September, I'm hoping we'll find out a few things and help her with all this extra energy she seems to have. I swear she gets so wound up that lightening bolts should be coming out of her fingertips and toes!
I was in the house most of the day dealing with Chas. Madison has been in and out of the pool at least a dozen times! She was also out in the pasture with the goats. She spends many hours out there and they absolutely love her. She gets down on her hands and knees and head butts with the kids, lol. Yes, she is usually very dirty when she gets back in the house.
Today, she came back to tell her dad that the fencer wasn't working. "I tested it, Dad, with the pitchfork and its not giving off a strong enuff snap." She is so serious when talking about the fence, its adorable. So off the 2 went to check the fence. Rich discovered the barbed wire twisted over the electric and many a thistole touching. So he chopped all the weeds down and straightened the tangled areas and WHOA, we had a good snap again. Question is... how'd the fence get tangled up in the first place? My thought, our goats are being naughty .
