From Town to Country: A Wife's Tale

• Thursday, July 17, 2008 - We're back online!

We are finally back on the internet which is make blogging so much easier!  I'm still going to back log everything that has been going on the last 2 months so things might look a bit weird on here for awhile during the next week or so as I add my journal enteries.

You would think we lived on a desserted island according to the internet companies!   Rich spent most of yesterday trying to find service for the farm.  Can you believe that our road was completely redone last year including laying new electric lines, internet and cable lines and they thought it best to lay analog lines instead of fiberoptic lines along the new road?  Seriously, who's the brainiac who thought this one up?  So, we can only get dial up for internet and there is no cable available, only satellite service for TV.  And here's the real kicker...  the internet/cable lines run within 1/2 mile on one side of us and within 2 miles of us on the other side!  Talk about frustrating to say the least.  Anyway, we ended up going with a card from our cell phone company that we can cancel service with when we return to the city this fall.  Right now, I'm just happy to be back online.

Well, I better get back to back logging.
Carol

About Me

We've been working on the family farm for 3 years trying to get it back to a working farm. The farm was neglected for 15+ years before we took it on. The summer of 2008 is our family's first experience living in the country, so began our journey from town to country...
