I am feeling really stupid right now. Our neighborhood floods pretty badly with heavy rains, and it really rained heavily last night. I thought I could make it through the neighborhood in my van to get to work, but the water was too high and my motor died. I called a friend who is a service manager for Chrysler, and he said there is only about a 20% chance my van can be saved. What a downer. But I got a dose of perspective when I turned on my computer: my cousin has been forwarding me e-mails about a family whose 4-year-old son was dying from cancer. Today I got the e-mail about his funeral. Well, what if my van has to be replaced and I miss a few days work and we have a big bill for either a new engine or a new (new to us, I would be happy to drive a "beater") car--these people just had to bury their 4-year old son after having to deal with seeing him go through the pain and hardship cancer brings.
SO--instead of worrying myself silly over the van, I can:
1. Pray for this family that just lost their son
2. Ask God for wisdom to handle this van situation.
3. Get a lot of homeschool work done.
4. Catch up on housekeeping and laundry.
I am very blessed, and whatever circumstance I find myself in, there is always someone struggling with something worse.
