IF JESUS CAME BACK TODAY

Would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in?

Or hide some magazines, and put The Bible where they'd been?

Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymn books out?

Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about?

And I wonder, if the Savior spent a day or two with you, would you go right on doing the things you always do?

Would you go right on saying the things you always say?

Or  would life for you continue as it does from day to day?

Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you go?

Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him meet your closest friends?

Or would you hope they stay away until His visit ends?

Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on?

Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know, the things that you would do, if Jesus came in person, to spend some time with you.

"FINDING TRUE PEACE"

FINDING TRUE PEACE

The questions are offen ask..."How will I support my family if I am laid off from work?

"Will I have enough money to retire?"

"It's not safe to travel anymore because of the terrorist threats."

"I can't imagine losing my loved one to cancer."

You don't ask for much.  All you want is to have enough to live on and to enjoy the simple things in life - to take care of your family and to keep them safe.  But even the simple things in life can turn into anxieties.

We don't know what will happen tomorrow - there is no job security, new diseases seem to crop up everyday, and crime rate is up.  With new bacterial strains, we don't even feel safe about the food on our table.

And so, we try to do things to put our mind at ease: Listen to the experts.  Go on a diet.  Exercise regularly.  Invest wisely. Learn new skills in case of a career change.  Isn't it ironic how hard we must try to have some peace?

Worse, even when we finally achieve these material or physical stability in our life, other things crop up.  Internal struggles and interpersonal relationships that is inevitable and much harder to control.  Against our best intentions, we argue with our family and friends.  We can't communicate with our parents or our kids.  We fight over little things with our spouse.  We can't stand our boss.

It's so hard to control the control the course and direction of our lives because we forget that there in the picture that we are not acknowledging.  All this time, we try to steer things to go our way, and if they do, we feel a temporary sense of peace - because nothing is going wrong.  But the minute something does, peace goes directly out the door.

"Why can't I calm down?"

"Why is there no peace in my heart?"

"What am I supposed to do?"

"Is there another way?"

"Glad you ask!"  Yes, there is.

True peace is not attainable through personal efforts or sheer will.  It comes only from Jesus Christ.

He said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."  (John 14:27)

It is an audacious promise to give peace to anyone who asks.  How is it possible?  Who is He?  What does He know about our troubles?

Jesus was a poor carpenter's son and a traveling teacher.  However, Jesus was not just a man.  He is also God.  He came to earth and showed us how to live a life of peace.  Jesus overcame His troubles and anxiety, and proved by word and deed that He has the power to do the same for you.

Listen carefully to His words - He does not give peace as the world gives.  It's so hard for us to attain peace on our own because we're trying to find it in the things of the world, whether through material things, through other people, or through our own will.  And the Lord Jesus also doesn't try to fool us because He knows that we will have trouble in our lives.

In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.  (John 16:33).

He also tells us that He has overcome the world and it is only through Him that we are able to have a different kind of peace - His peace is for us to know that we have someone who will help us through every kind of trouble we face even before we encounter them.  This is what gives us the confidence to walk through life, instead of worrying about every trouble that may or may not be in our horizon.

So we ought to be of good cheer, knowing that He has overcome the world.  He has gone through all the challenges we face, and He understands what each of us go through.  In our time of need, knowing that He empathizes with us will calm us.  Even if things go wrong, we can also take comfort that they are lessons Christ wants us to learn because He always works for our good when we believe in Him and look to Him for all our answers.

Jesus loves us and wants to give us eternal life, and if He wants something as wonderful as everlasting life for us, how much more will He take care of our daily needs and worldly troubles?

If Jesus Christ could die to save the world,  then the least we can do is tell the world of what He has already done!

Turning to Prayer

Every day's a challenge

There are victories to be won,

Battles to engage in

Before the day is done.

There are trials and burdens,

But joys as well to know,

To help us deal with troubles

As on our way we go.

Prayer can be most helpful

To lighten loads until

We feel a sense of peacefulness

God Bless!!

HANDS

HANDS

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.

A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.

It depends on whose hands it's in.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6

A baseball in Mark McGuire's hands is worth 19 million.

It depends on whose hands it's in.

A tennis racket is useless in my hands.

A tennis racket in Pete Sampras' hands is a Wimbeldon Championship.

It depends on whose hands it's in.

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal.

A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea.

It depends on whose hands it's in.

A sling shot in my hands is a toy.

A sling shot in David's hands is a mighty weapon.

It depends on whose hands it's in.

Two fish and Five loaves in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches.

Two fish and five loaves in God's hands will feed thousands.

It depends on whose hands they're in.

Nails in my hands might produce a bird house.

Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will produce salvation for the entire world.

It depends on whose hands they're in.

As you see now it depends on whose hands it's in.  So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because, It depends on whose hands they're in.

Mom's & Dad's looking for extra income!!!

I recently joined AGLOCO because a friend recommended it to me.  So, now I am promoting it to folks looking for exta income at home.  I really like the ieea and I wanted to share this exciting new Internet concept.

AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members.  (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user.  And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube's users did not get paid for!

AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network.  They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they're building a community that will generate the kind of fortune that YouTube made.  But instead of that wealth making only a few people profit$$, the entire community will get its share.

So if you are interested, check it out at: http://www.agloco.com/r/BBDM2432

Thanks

Cowboy & Church

One Sunday morning an old cowboy entered a church just before services were to begin.

Although the old man and his clothes were spotlessly clean, he wore jeans, a denim shirt and boots that were very worn and ragged.  In his hand he carried a worn out old hat and an equally worn out bible.

The Church he entered was in a very upscale and exclusive part of the city.  It was the largest and most beautiful church the old cowboy had ever seen.

The people of the congregation were all  dressed with expensive clothes and accessories.

As the cowboy took a seat, the others moved away from him.

No one greeted, spoke to, or welcome him.  They were all appalled at his appearance and did not attempt to hide it.  The preacher gave a long sermon about Hellfire and brimstone and a stern lecture on how much money the church needed to do God's work.

As the old cowboy was leaving the church, the preacher approached him and asked the cowboy to do him a favor.  "Before you come back in here again, have a talk with God and ask him what He thinks would be appropriate attire for worship."

The old cowboy assured the preacher he would.

The next Sunday, he showed up for the services wearing the same ragged jeans, shirt, boots, and hat.  Once again he was completely shunned and ignored.

The preacher approached the man and said, "I thought I asked you to speak to God before you came back to our church."

"I did, replied the old cowboy.

"If you spoke to God, what did he tell you the proper attire should be for worshipping in here?"  asked the preacher.

"Well, sir, God told me that He didn't have a clue what I should wear.

He says He's never been in this church!
