A little bit of this and a little bit of that............

Posted in Politically Incorrect & Potentially Offensive :-)
I guess this would be a potpourri post!

Thanksgiving day huh. Wow.....from Sept 1 to date time has FLOWN by. I think I have lost my bearings because it was cold until July 5th and then got cold again, Nov 1. We never really had a 'summer' here in central zone 5. Maybe that's what's throwing me off?
I will tell you this..............I sure would love to see a little bit of that 'global warming' the tv talks about all the time!! :-)

So today, we're cooking a typical meal.
Turkey, taters, corn, rolls (home made), gravy.........you can't go without home made gravy! Pumpkin tarts, a pheasent for my son...Not a big production. I bought a HUGE turkey so that we can take the left overs and make meals and put them in the freezer.
It will be just the family. I just could not do one more year the way we have done it in the past........For days leading up to t-giving I was a wreck......the day of I was a wreck, and the day after I had a headache and a huge mess to clean up. So this year, we all decided that this was a bad tradition, and we were gonna break free!!!
So far...........no stress! YEAH!!

Thanksgiving.
Thankful to live in a country that is so generous. I am weary of the guilt trip "we are so gluttonous, we are so arrogant, we deserve God's Judgement". Yeah.......well, news flash........who doesn't? Let's talk about the poor starving. The ones who worship false gods. The ones who openly, blatantly disregard the Creator, His Creation, His Revealed Word...............ok, somehow gluttony and arrogance is "worse"? Nope. Sin is sin. I will not 'curse the land the Lord has given me" but I will Praise Him and Thank Him for all of the abundance and blessings HE had bestowed on America.
Never ever will I feel guilty because GOD has BLESSED me!!

Tomorrow Black Friday!!
I am looking forward to seeing the ads in the paper today. Not for chirstmas gifts.......but to see if they have anything we need on sale. Like hot pads. Mine are worn out. In years past we have done 3 gifts only on christmas........but again, traditions are changing at our home. Maybe this year only 1 gift each.........maybe nothing at all.......I don't know. But things are changing.
But a good sale is still, a good sale!!

Things are going to get better.
I looked over my blog and there is so much sadness and anger, I deleted a lot. I have had many complaints about my 'vomit entries' and my "anger entries"..........I guess when I 'vent' I should label it as such so people can skip it!!

My Bible study is like sandpaper on my hiney this week!!! I will work thru it though and post my highglights!!!

Off I go to the kitchen!!

Sharing The Gift Of Thanks

Posted in In The Family Room

It's officially Thanksgiving and I couldn't go without wishing friends and family a Happy Thanksgiving from Doug and I.

As we start our turkeys, prepare the trimmings and open our homes for guests and loved-ones to arrive, lets not forget the things we are thankful for today. We all have SO much to be thankful for. I look at my own menu and as I saw the news today on those who are going without, I am reminded of just how much we actually have.

Believe it or not, we've actually cut down on some things, yet as we dig in to our apple and pumpkin pies, I am reminded of those who go without, others who haven't any loved ones to celebrate with, those without warm clothes and even those who's family members are away serving our country.

Lets take the time to reach out to someone in our lives, whether it be a neighbor, volunteering at a local shelter, or even donating to charities and fundraiser's this year. You each make the difference and have a special gift.

I have much to be thankful for this year and I am most grateful to God for His unconditional loving-kindness. but also for the protection on family and friends and the blessings He gives us all each day. Life isn't always easy, but it's His kind and gentle hand that reaches out and gives us hope that we may share that hope with others.

May you all be blessed each day, May He continue to love and guide you through the joys and trials, May He work within you to strengthen you, grant you peace, comfort and most importantly may you share all you have with much love and thanksgiving, in Jesus Mighty name.

I leave you with an uplifting scripture during this time of Thanksgiving. May you all know that you are loved deeply!

Serve the Lord with gladness:
come before His presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord He is God:
It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise;
be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endures to all generations.
~Psalm 100

Wednesday November 26, 2008

Posted in Politically Incorrect & Potentially Offensive :-)
It's Wednesday November 26, 2008.

Today is Bible study.
I asked my boss at my regular job, if a shift comes open tonight, I will take it.
I will call my other boss, and take all shifts he has available next week.

I will run laundry, clean up the house, and buy a new trash can.
Critters are digging into my bags.

We are not having anyone over for dinner tomorrow. It will just be us.
I still bought a huge turkey. We will eat on that for DAYS!

I am looking forward to seeing the Black Friday ads...........usually it's the same thing on sale that was on sale LAST year......but, we'll look anyway.
My oldest and I will do the 5 am blitz Friday morning.........we have been doing it for 12 years now. Used to be stores had great deals. Now, not so much.
But we love getting our crunchy bagel and Starbucks!

Happy Thanksgiving!!   Please don't forget to reflect on the blessings you have in your lives each day and remember those who have less than we do.  Donate your time, money and prayers. Help an elderly person, do something nice for a military family, save some leftovers for someone who has no family or better yet, invite them into your homes.  Nothing about this season is about gifting.  While it's a tradition to have Turkey, Ham, Family, Tree Trimmings and gifts, ultimately it's to reflect on what God has given us and what gifts we have to offer others in need.

Blessed Love To Each Of You,

November 20, 2008

Well that's not how this is supposed to work!

I've been having a flare this week. Run a fever since Saturday, achy joints, fatigue, etc. Yesterday I was feeling somewhat better, and even planned on going to Curves today. Until I took my shower. I got out of the shower and when I went to wrap the towel around my wet hair, I somehow managed to snag my back. I'm all pinched up and wadded into a knot back there. I am now walking with a cane and walk like my grandmother. Even taking a deep breath hurts. I do wonder if my flare contributed to the situation. I mean really. This is ridiculous. I have been seeing my chiro and he's trying to get me lined out. I took off work yesterday and today but I HAVE to go back tomorrow. No choice. So I'm icing my back and doing my stretches and hoping I can be somewhat mobile tomorrow....even if it is with a cane! I go see the rheumatologist on Wednesday. We are less than a week away!! YAY!! And then Thanksgiving is 1 week from today. How crazy is that?? I do apologize for the formatting of my past couple of posts. I'm using my son's Mac laptop and for some reason it insists on taking out any and all spaces and paragraphs. I'm sure this is a way to fix the problem, but I wouldn't know how to begin. So, you are stuck with hard to read posts until Hubby has time to figure it out for me. Sorry about that!

Absent...

Posted in Good Health and Spirit

My apologies for not being on as much. I've been having a mix of medical issues lately and thus have had quite a bit of insomnia.

I'm hoping this and other issues change in the upcoming months, as I work toward a healthier lifestyle. In the meantime, I'll be visiting when I can, but am focusing on one day at a time until I get my energy back.

Blessings to you all!

Prayer

Thank You Jesus For Everything!
Hello and Blessings to ALL!
Father I love and bless you for what you have done are doing and going to do for all created in your image.

May we however you choose meet you so we have no doubts and fears that keep us separated?
I know your desires are ours so I cheerfully receive all you have for me so I am in your will.

Bring us to the throne room to sit in your presences so we become healthy, wealthy and wise cause that is part of our blessings on earth as it is in heaven.
Heal us from all our wounds and self imposed limitations.
Give us wings to fly above it all and expanded vision to see your word and know it from the heart of that which lies behind it.
Cover us with your love and joy so we gain your passion and expression in the fullest way humanly possible.
I give you Praise and Father while you are at it do your work in us to bring thee all you ask of us to receive so your son's death is not in vain.

Bible Study 6-10

Posted in WHO IS THIS JESUS?
In my blog titled
Bible Study 1-5
I revealed how short I fall of keeping
the 10 Commandments.

#6 You shall not murder.
Hmmmm
Ok, so things are looking good for me here.
I haven't killed anyone.
Nor would I.
Ever.
But
Jesus said: Matthew 5:21-26
Ok, once again, I am toast.
My tongue is quite a weapon.
As are my fingers on a key board.
As is my heart, that is hidden.

#7 You shall not commit adultery.
Once again.......
Toast.
Jesus said: Matthew 5:27-32

#8 You shall not steal.
Ok wait a minute.
I am not a thief........or am I?
Well sometimes I don't buy EXACTLY what the coupons for.
And I take pens home from work.
And I have my dh print something off at his office.
And I read a magazine while I am at work
(stealing time. getting paid for a job,
yet doing something I am not
paid to do)
When I sit down and do a deep self exam.
Busted. Guilty.

And I thought I would SAIL through the 'shall not's"
NOT

#9 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Liar Liar.
Busted Busted.
I am SUPER hyper sensitive in this area.
I TRY SO HARD to be 100% honest.
One thing I am known for is my
blunt force honesty.
But
In my anger, I know I have sinned.
Of the 10 Commandments,
this is the one I come the closest to keeping.

#10 You shall not covet.
Ok
I do covet.
I don't care about stuff.....like houses cars clothes.
But I covet people who have
large families,close friends
amazing marriages.
I covet relationships
not stuff.
Still coveting all the same.

So there you have it.
I can't "keep" the 10 Commandments.
Lord knows, I don't even come close.
I came close when I had mono
and was sleeping 18 hours a day
But I think that is the
only time I was even close.
Honest.
