Christ Missing From The Playground

Posted in Entertainment
I just saw the Movie "Recess Christmas: Miracle on 3rd Street" and was really tee'd off. I don't know what the directors and writers were trying to do but they messed up. The carton had little to do with Christmas until the end and the only time Christ was mentioned was in the title. The part featuring a Christmas play was to be interfaith but all holiday beliefs were represented but the Christian faith. We got Santa Claus. And Mickey learned that he was only rel if he believed in him in his heart. They could have at least given Christ the same blow-off. The real miracle on 3rd Street would have been the Lord getting far time.

Here is a list of those responsible for the Movie/cartoon. And visit the people at Disney.

The Movie "Sin Eater"

Posted in Entertainment

Just got around to seeing the movie "Sin Eater". I say it was one of the best family movies I've seen. And it would be even better to show church groups.
The subject line deals with an old Welsh custom revived by scottish immigrants in the mountains.
It shows how the Lord allows customs to develop in other cultures that will one day open doors for Christ to be shared.

Examples of this are in the book "Eternity In Their Hearts". It tells of many cultures that had elements of Christ teachings and opened doors for missionaries to relate the gospel to them who had never heard.

Another book that shows this concept is "Peace Child". A small summary of the story is told in "EITH" mentioned above.

Back to the movie. It is a good watch. Based on a true custom. I recommend it greatly.

Bridge of Terabithia

Posted in Entertainment
Have you seen The Bridge to Terabithia. If you are like me and waited until it came out on DVD to rent, than here is what I think.
If you can relate to being bullied in school, you will love it.
The theme of the movie is "tolerance". That is not surprising since a lot of Disney Movies cover that theme. What is surprising is that gay propaganda was not involved.
I really enjoyed the movie, but I was able to see through the world view of Disney's agenda.

Christians in the movie are:
1. Poor
2. Bad family relations
3. Go to church out of duty not for a love of God.

Non-christians in the movie are:
1. Prosperious
2. Love and enjoy family members
3. Believes in God but has a perverted veiw of Him.

Un-relealistic situations:
1. Bullies block bathroom and charge younger students to use.
    No teachers in sight.
2. Bus driver ignores bullies mistreating younger students, but
punishes a student  when falsly accused of wrong doing by older bully.

Good points:
Teaches us not to judge others because we do not know what is going
   on in their  lives.
Teaches us that the best way to defeat an enemy is to make them a friend.

I  believe this may be a good movie for younger kids if the parents will discuss these issues. They may even miss the subtle themes of a secular world view.
