Wednesday, June 27, 2007Bridge of TerabithiaPosted in EntertainmentHave you seen The Bridge to Terabithia. If you are like me and waited until it came out on DVD to rent, than here is what I think. If you can relate to being bullied in school, you will love it. The theme of the movie is "tolerance". That is not surprising since a lot of Disney Movies cover that theme. What is surprising is that gay propaganda was not involved. I really enjoyed the movie, but I was able to see through the world view of Disney's agenda. Christians in the movie are: 1. Poor 2. Bad family relations 3. Go to church out of duty not for a love of God. Non-christians in the movie are: 1. Prosperious 2. Love and enjoy family members 3. Believes in God but has a perverted veiw of Him. Un-relealistic situations: 1. Bullies block bathroom and charge younger students to use. No teachers in sight. 2. Bus driver ignores bullies mistreating younger students, but punishes a student when falsly accused of wrong doing by older bully. Good points: Teaches us not to judge others because we do not know what is going on in their lives. Teaches us that the best way to defeat an enemy is to make them a friend. I believe this may be a good movie for younger kids if the parents will discuss these issues. They may even miss the subtle themes of a secular world view. | 0 comments | Link Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 22 of 28 } { Next Page } |
