Great Weekend!

I had a great weekend!  Saturday was my birthday - so since my precious dh had to work part of the day, my dds and I went to my mom's, who took us out to a Chinese restaurant.  Then, when my sweet dh got home, we ordered out and he gave me the Rich Mullins DVD/CD set - "Here in America" - that I've been wanting for such a long time.  Rich Mullins is my all-time favorite Christian singer/songwriter.  He was the inspiration for me to start playing hammered dulcimer.  I have always liked Celtic music and instruments - I had never thought about using a hammered dulcimer for praise and worship until I first heard him about 20+ years ago.

Then Sunday - as if worship with the saints isn't enough - My sweet little family took me to City Barbeque for my real birthday meal!  YUM!!  Several of our closest church friends went with us and it was so much fun.  And, of course, we just couldn't leave there without getting some of their house BBQ sauce.  Woohoo!!!  It was a good day.

belated birthday! Seems a lot of homesteaders are having birthdays lately.

You play the dulcimer? How great! I love the sound of dulcimers, bangos, and all the instruments you don't hear on a regular basis.
