Wanna Be a Steader!

Day with friends...

If you read my blog yesterday, you know that I took a trip to a food co-op with a friend of mine.  I had so much fun!

Half the party couldn't make it, but my friend who is already a member of this particular co-op brought another lady, so I made a new friend to boot!  The co-op was pretty neat - they have an incredibly HUGE catalogue!  You order, and few weeks later you go pick up your goodies.  I was relieved to see that there were not only families who ordered what seemed like TABLES full of goods, but also some who only orderd 1 or 2 items.  Money being what it is at our house,    I would LOVE to be one of those famlies who order tables full, but we'll probably only order a few items when we join.  But they DO have an area where anyone can buy left-over items from folks who ordered a partial case of goods, they set the rest out for everyone to glean from.  I picked up a few items and was really happy about that.  It was also intesting to walk around and see all the different items that others had on their tables...sometimes it's hard to "picture" what something is or what it looks like simply from an order number and name in a catalogue! 

THEN, I got to show my friends where the little Menonite shops that I go to are!  They seemed very pleased with the adventure and we all came home with some fresh whole milk and brown eggs!  Have you ever dipped Oreo's in an ice cold glass of fresh whole milk?!  It's like cream!  Aaahhh!!!  I can feel the weight gain just thinking about it...but, OH, what a way to go!
