Favorite Homemade Seasoning Mixes
Gena's questions lead to the BEST ideas. Today, she sparked me into posting my favorite seasoning mixes...
Kim's favorite all-purpose seasoning
(got this from a book...if knew which one it was, I'd tell you)
1 c. dried parsley
1/4 c. dried thyme
1/2 c. dried chives
1/2 c. dried dillweed
1/2 c. dried oregano
Makes 2-3/4 cups. Mix well, keep in airtight container away from light. I use this on just about everything I fry these days...chicken, hamburger, pork chops; even salads w/vinegar and oil, herb bread and herb butter. All-round good!
Italian Salad Dressing
1-1/2 Tb. dried oregano
1-1/2 Tb. dried basil
1-1/2 Tb. garlic salt
1-1/2 Tb. onion powder
1-1/2 Tb. salt
3/4 Tb. paprika
3/4 Tb. dried dillweed
3/4 Tb. dried rosemary
1/2 ts. ground black pepper
Dash cayenne pepper
Combine and keep in airtight container. Shake well before using.
Taco Seasoning
1/4 c. dried onion flakes
4 ts. cornstarch
4 Tb. chili powder
3 ts. ground cumin
3 ts. dried garlic flakes
2 ts. dried hot pepper flakes
2 ts. beef bouillon powder
1-1/2 ts. dried oregano
2 Tb. salt (optional)
Combine, shake well or blend to make it finer (I prefer the courser mix).
Herb Pasta Seasoning
3 Tb. dried basil
3 Tb. dried parsley
3 Tb. dried oregano
1 Tb. garlic granules
Combine and keep in an airtight container. When using: Mix 1 c. wiht 1/4 c. melted butter or olive oil. Toss with cooked pasta, enjoy! (Also good on tomato/cucumber salads!)

Sounds really good
I'm looking for some things for my diabetic brother that he can use in his non-cooking kitchen to encourage him to cook. These should help. Thank you.
