Homemade Dishwashing Liquid

Does anyone have, or know of, a recipe for homemade dishwashing liquid?  I have recipe for homeschool dishwashing machine soap, but I'd like to make my own liquid for hand washing dishes.

This is the only one I have and I've not made it yet because I can't find glycerin. Also I'm not 100% sure about the soap flakes. I thought it meant grated soap.
DISH LIQUID

1/4 cup soap flakes
2 cups hot water
1/4 cup glycerin
1/2 tsp lemon essential oil

I have read that the soap flakes are washing soda. I think Wal-mart carries glycerin-in the aisle with the OTC medicines.
