Well, dear friends, I almost had a very sad Mother's Day...
My dear hubby - my Sweetie Pie - Ty, is a part-time driving instructor and Saturday I received one of those calls that you never want to get...Ty was in the emergency room!
He was in the instructor seat (the passenger seat to you and me) and some little old man with coke-bottle glasses in a Mercedes SUV ran a stop sign and smashed right into Ty's side. THEN, he gets out of his car, runs up to Ty - who is injured, with glass all over him - and, does he say, "Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you OK?!" Noooooooooooo - he starts yelling, "If you weren't going 60 miles an hour, I wouldn't have hit you!" to which 2 other witnesses running up to the wreck heard him and grabbed the old man and said, "He wasn't going 60mph! YOU ran the stupid stop sign!" Blessings to them, they also stayed and told the police that as well! Ty said that he heard the State Patrolman yelling at the old guy, later. Ty had to be cut out of the car...I guess it wasn't pretty.
But we're praising the LORD that he's in a lot better shape then he could have been - if the old guy hadn't actually been stopped at the sign before he ran it and was actually going full speed, my Ty probably wouldn't be here OR he would still be in the hospital. As it is, his whole right side is badly bruised, sore and stiff. He went back to work today, it will interesting to see if he makes it the whole day. But he's a tuffy, and will probably do it, no matter how bad he feels.
But, hey, other than that...I had a good Mother's Day! ;-) Our girls and I went on to church and my mom, my brother and his girlfriend came to our church. Our pastor did an EXCELLENT sermon on The DiVinci Code - he shot their lies right out of the water! It was great! We need to be "learned-up" so that we know how to counter all the lies generated by this book. A really GREAT resource for it is being offered by Dr. D. James Kennedy's Coral Ridge Ministries - they have a DVD refuting all the bunk. I have it and it is such a great resource.
Hope all of you moms out there had a great Mom's Day! Ty and the girls were cooking up some big surprise for me that they were going to go out Saturday night to prepare for - needless-to-say, it didn't happen. But, like I said, at least I still have my TY!! That's what matters most to me.
Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><
