freeze goat milk?????

Yes you can freeze goats milk, mostly what I froze it for was feeding babies and making soap.. but the key, my goat lady neighbor said, was to only freeze VERY FRESH milk then shake it good when it was thawed out..maybe some others will have more to add. HTH

I'd freeze it. :) I would shake it really well, too. We feeze our raw cow's milk all the time b/c we don't always make the trips on a scheduled basis - so we freeze sometimes more than a gallon in quart jars for Samuel. He doesn't seem to notice any different - it does look strange unthawing, though I have used it on my cereal I don't drink it b/c it is rationed for my son. :)

Edit: if you freeze in glass quart jars you can only fill the jars about 2-3 inches from the top, depending on the jar's shoulders. Picture the milk freezing into a block and then pushing upwards more than an inch - if it will hit the top of the jar's where it starts to slope towards the lid it will break. Don't ask how I know. :) I also pre-chill the jars but I don't really know if that does anything; but I haven't lost a jar since I started pre-chilling and filling them less. :)

Hello there! I would like to thank you for dropping by my blog. Your comment made me feel a lot better. I seem to feel very excited reading your blog because I got to know the real farm life. II live in the Philippines and loved books since I was a child. I got very excited reading children's books (used books donated by the US for public schools here and oh boy, the year it was published was 20 years or more back at the time I was reading those :-)) about the country life. I am jealous of how your barns look like. Here we got no such things as that. We are a poor country you know. I would love to hear more often from you and visit your blog everytime I can.
