griddle options-cast iron or electric? HELP!!!!!

My current griddle is getting old (we got it for free) - the cord gets hot when it is plugged in.  My husband wants to get me one for Christmas, but he knows that I am picky about my kitchen tools, so he wants my opinion.  so, here are my options.
electric griddle - nice because I can use it AND my stove at the same time, if I need to.  It also comes with a grease run-off so my bacon does not cook in its grease.
but they are generally also cast-aluminum, and I am trying to get away from cooking on aluminum as much as possible.

cast iron - nice because it is cast iron and healthier on which to cook.  but, they go on my stove and take up burners.  they also do not always have a grease trap, so my bacon would cook in its grease, and I do not like the taste of that so much.

so, if you have any ideas which way I should go?  pros, cons, why one over the other.  I told him I would let him know by tomorrow night so he can order it before Christmas.

I have that first one listed. It is really nice, I can make a dozen pancakes at a time(it takes 5 dozen to feed the boys).
Don't know how you feel about Wal-Mart but you can get that big griddle there a good bit cheaper that either of the prices that were listed too.

You are such a nice person that I think you should get both of them, that way you can decide on which way you want to go.

Cast iron is the best (in my opinion) however, they need cleaned right away after each use and you must season them prior to any use.

How about a cast iron with grease trap that's under 50 bucks? Check this one out! http://www.instawares.com/reversible-cast-iron-griddle.243-1015.0.7.htm
I am trying to go cast Iron for the health benefits too! Or how about a steel one? I have heard of those as well. - Mrs. B in Alaska
