I needed to do a search for a previous entry someone had written, so I went to the homepage, and what did I discover - I am one of the top 5 commenters! HA! see, I have my browser (and every time I see that word I think of Super Mario Brothers, but I digress) set to open straight to the last 100 entries and my manager page, so I almost never go to the HSB2 homepage. So I saw that, and I got a shock! I write my own entries very rarely, I guess mostly because I feel that I am doing so little on the homesteading front that I don't feel like I should be taking up last 100 posts. But I am on here all the time! I love reading the homestead news of everyone else, and the daily dose of laughter over at Scarecrow's. And I know that I love it when someone has left me a comment about my post, even if it is a one-liner or a personal experience with something I wrote about. I really love long informative comments from you, my online friends. So I try to give what I would like to receive.I love having this community here. a place where I can come for prayers and spiritual encouragement, for advice on household, animal husbandry, homemaking and child-rearing, for a community feeling that I am not the lone self-sufficiency, natural-eating, God-loving wacko out here! I remember when I found this site - people who told me I was NOT crazy for wanting to grow/raise my own food or make my own soap. and I love the help I get here. I love grandma Rosie's recipies and tips, and Mrs. Rella's day-to-day struggles, and Hands-n-hearts plain tips. I love the discussions of God and the tips on how to make beans that are not hard as rocks (I have a problem with that!). and as I start this last year of non-official homeschooling, I love the recent posts of how and why ya'll homeschool.
