Baby girl is walking all over the place! She can do laps around the house and can turn around (in a wide circle) and even bend over to pick up a dropped item. Sometimes that dropped item is part of a phyisics experiment – the re-discovery of gravity! And she loves it! She is also eating whatever we are eating. And she has three teeth – her two front bottom and one side on the top! I have all but given up on my garden. Somehow two tomato plants survived in my SFG boxes. I gotta say, all else aside, Mel certainly knew what he was talking about when he said his mix holds moisture – I can go a week between watering of those two forlorn plants, and the soil is still moist. And the pumpkin seeds ds5 planted are plants. Neither the tomatoes or the pumpkin have flowers or fruit, but, hey, they are still green and surprisingly NOT eaten by grasshoppers! My puppy ate what was left of my avocado tree – just as it had sent forth more stems out of the root. Oh, I was mad! I am hoping it still has that God-given will to survive and sends forth just one more shoot. Just one. Please? My lemon tree has three small lemons, smaller than a pea and as green, but I am pretty sure those blossoms were pollinated, so maybe in the fall, we will have some home-grown lemons! Yummy! I bought 200 pounds of soft white wheat this week. YEAH!!! I have the start of a years supply of food for my family. Of course, based on the various charts and recommendations, I need 1000 pounds of wheat for my family of 5, but, hey, 200 pounds is a good start! I also bought 5 6-gallon buckets and some dry ice and managed to get 5 buckets. I will be buying already-sealed-for-20-years-buckets of hard white wheat from my local costco at $17/45 pounds to round out the rest of my wheat storage. I guess that makes another 17 buckets. I have only budgeted $100 a month for food storage, so this will take me a few months. I think I have my sugar storage, mostly in honey, but some brown sugar and some white. I think my plan is to do 2 more months of wheat storage and then move to beans before I finish the wheat. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 65 of 193 } { Next Page } |
