6 pet peeves

*Pet Peeve Tag*

On this tag you must list 6 major "pet peeves" you have and a brief explanation as to why, once done "tag" three other people to do the same, simple enough.

okay, thanks Musketman, here goes

1) ending sentances with a preposition.  I know most people have no idea, not even a CLUE of what exactly is a preposition.  I studied French for many years, and there is absolutley NO WAY to end a sentance with a preposition in that language.  so I had to learn the proper way, and that carried over into my English speaking.  it is my number one pet peeve.

2) poorly written children's books.  I know the kids cannot read, and most parents don't care about grammer, but I have thrown away any number of children's books with awful grammer and uneven storyline.  (I just have not done it in front of my children!)  Books are how children learn about language, and a poorly written book can do a lot of damage!

3) people who do not give up their seats, open doors or otherwise assist the elderly, infirm, pregnant or mother with young children on buses, in stores, or waiting rooms.  and when I have been none of these, and a gentleman offers me a seat because I am female, no other reason!, I have taken it to show appreciation for his offer, not because I needed it.

4) people who forget their blinker is on and drive 10 miles telling all and sundry that they are turning right at the next street.  I mean the next one.  maybe the next one.... the next?

5) other people filling up my dishwasher.  plates in sundry places and bowls and silverware with the business ends pointed up.  this is the reason I also will rinse off dishes when I am at someone elses house, but do not fill up the dishwasher.

6) anyone or anything touching my glasses.  that is something my children learn early: do NOT touch mommy's glasses.  fingerprints drive me nuts.  if my husband wants a particularly long kiss, I will remove my glasses to avoid smudges.  a touch of my glasses means that wrastling or kissing time is over until I can clean them.

okay... pet peeve turn....  I choose: zookeepercat, HeMarriedMedusa, and CedarCityMom.  tell us your pet peeves.
