soap and curry

hello there...

I have used my oatmeal soap... mmm.... by far my favorite - I love hte way it scrubs!  dh loves it on his feet, and we are making MORE on Saturday.  it is addicting...  I have convinced my SIL - who loves my soaps too  - to soap with me on Sat when we go to stay with them.  I kinda get the feeling that she is planning to make TONS of soap, based on the quantities of ingredients she is buying....

last night the youth from our church were doing "mini-missions" where they pretend to be missionaries in a foriegn country, and we were asked to feed them and listen to their message.  I chose India, so I made a yummy chicken korma and an aloo gobi (which my dh LOVED!!! cauliflower and everything!!)  I love Indian food.the only downside is that in order to get dh to eat it, I hafta make it mild.    I like it to have some bite.  I made awful chapati - I need to work on that! and a strawberry lassi.  and cucumber sticks on the side.

It snowed yesterday morning... and I discovered - through chasing garbage blown out of our wind-tipped can - that the fenced-in garden area is flatter than it appears from a distance.  so I will be placing my garden up there.  now if it will only warm up again enough to finish my beds.

and the kids are up now from quiet time, so I will say farewell

oatmeal soap...

Are you willing to share your soap recipe? I have made some soap, but not alot. Mine have tended to be quite hard. I know that using vegetable shortening tends to do that... I struggle with finding good ingredients. I finally found coconut oil. But still haven't found cocoa butter.
Warmly, Melissa
