St Patricks Day is ALWAYS celebrated in our family. we have shamrock decorations and green things everywhere. and cupcake "cakes" - have you seen these? they are 24 cupcakes arranged in designs like letters, numbers or simple shapes like butterflies, etc and then frosted to look like a cake. we had 4 of these, making 96 cupcakes. we love these for St. Patricks Day since this way everyone can have cake without plates, forks or stale pieces, since our celebration generally lasts for 2 days and we have 200+ people coming and going and visiting. there are ice cream bars, sandwiches and cones in the freezer and this year we had a deli meat tray and rolls and a veggie tray too. Oh, the design of the cupcake cake? 109 and a butterfly.did I mention that St Patrick's Day is also my great-grandmother's birthday? yup, and she is now 109 and the oldest person in the state. she had 11 children (3 living) 33 grandchildren 87 great-grandchildren 145 great greats and 15 great-great greats (this count was done 4 years ago.
