anyone wanna come over and watch my children while I go back to bed this morning? I have only been awake for 2 hours and I have.....burned the muffins burned the bacon set off the smoke detectors (all seven of them in this house!) dropped a hook from my pan rack to go clattering across the counter to land in the oranges spilled my fruit smoothie all over the table dropped the blender (luckily it was already headed to the sink, so it didn't fall too far) and somehow, the baby slept through all of that, right next to the kitchen! the only reason we had any breakfast at all (besides nibbling around the burned parts of bacon and muffin) was that I am not allowed to cook the eggs. I do not do it right. so dh is in charge of those. thank goodness, especially today! tell me today will get better? I am almost afraid to pick anything else up!  in other news: yesterday I got my lemon tree!  or should I say twig with leaves? I was expecting something a little bigger than 18 inches, since the website claims it will bear fruit in as little as 14 months. hmm..... I think mine will not be one of those! It was great - first, the box was delivered ON ITS SIDE (and probably shipped that way as well) so a lot of the soil had come out and the root ball was really loose; then the instructions to "Please Rush/ Perishable/ keep from hot and cold" were on the INSIDE of the shipping box!!! tell me how that helps    the postal carrier left it on my front porch - IN THE COLD.I took pictures of it last night in case I need to contact the company, Wayside Gardens. I am worried about my avocado tree - will it ship the same way? yesterday I made: 12 chicken cordon bleu, 12 chicken kievs, and 16 feta-and-bacon stuffed chicken (we had 4 of those for dinner last night with some pasta and brocolli... some homemade pita would have been really good with that meal). then I froze them in 4 piece portions, and we now have 9 "gormet" meals waiting for us. it is hard for me to do these, since we eat smaller portions than most folks, so I only use half a chicken breast per roll. sometimes it is hard to get them to wrap effectively. I tried something new yesterday though, I cut off the fat end of the breast, and used my kitchen shears to cut a pocket in that fat piece, and stuff it that way. then there is only one hole I hafta close up. I think it worked rather well. I need to go get these out of the freezer and package them correctly (I like to freeze them individually overnight first). Now, I still have LOADS of chicken to make into chicken fingers. I am almost afraid to do so this morning (see above!) well, wish me luck on my day!
