So this morning, I wake up for the second time expecting crockpot oatmeal, and for the second time discover cold oatmeal in a large pot of water.

HUH? the first time I had forgotten to turn it on - it was pluged in and all, and last night I thought I had learned my lesson. I plugged it in, turned it on, and went to bed. this morning, cold. the plug was not all the way plugged in. I have never had this problem during the day while I cook dinner, but I cannot seem to get oatmeal in the morning! we will try again tonight for oatmeal tomorrow morning.
I made pita bread yesterday, but it didn't puff into pockets very well. any ideas? we love pocket pitas, but they charge $3 for 6 half pitas!!!

that is just ridiculous!
this morning I did not feel like doing anything but sitting at the computer, reading a book or watching movies all day. I have a yucky sinus headache. Instead, I gathered the children with a bucket and rags and we washed the walls upstairs. they enjoyed that, and it was mindless enough that I didn't have to think overly hard about what we were doing or about entertaining them. and bonus: my walls are clean!
we are having broccoli soup for dinner tonight and foccacia. the soup is frozen leftovers from last month's batch and the foccacia is a store-bought mix cuz when I made it last tiem it didn't turn out right, so I am using a mix this time to show me what it is supposed to do so when I make it next time, it will turn out right.

So it's tomorrow. Did you 'Finally' get to eat your crockpot oatmeal? hope so. At least it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who occasionally 'forgets' to do something. Have a Great Weekend and good luck with all the projects you've got going. Maybe you could have the kids start a wall washing business - I'll bet there are a lot of walls out there that need washing! I have forgotten to turn on the crock pot sometimes, but have never tried an overnight recipe. I have forgotten to turn on the bread machine, though, for an overnight batch of bread!!!
