Faith is rotting garbage?

06:22 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2007 .. 3 comments .. Link

Faith is a compost pile.  I know, I know, the scripture says "faith is a seed," but with all respect, I disagree!  (not that I am disagreeing with scripture, but... hear me out!)
Faith ceases to be faith when it becomes KNOWLEDGE.  I no longer have to go by faith to know that my pumpkin seeds will turn into beautiful and fruitful vines!  I KNOW it.  I no longer have to have Faith that God is watching over and guiding me.  I KNOW it.
what I do NOT know is that all my yucky kitchen scraps and garbage is going to turn into black gold for my garden.  I have read all the books, I know the theory, I can even give you a basic run-down of the process it uses.  what I cannot grasp is that it actually works!
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" - Heb 11:1

I am sure hoping that my saving all my vegetable scraps from the kitchen will actually decompose and turn into a lovely and helpful mass of soft black nutrients, but I have not actually seen the evidence for myself.
So, here is my leap of faith.  and my assertion that "Faith is a compost pile, not a seed!"

I will keep you appraised of the situation!

You will see and KNOW that your garbage pile is a pile of rich black gold!! "Keep the faith, baby!"

Aspiring for Knowledge

I need to show this post to my dh. I want to know what he is going to do with the pile of 'scraps' that has sat in our backyard for the past 5 yrs and still hasn't budged. Maybe there is 'black gold' underneath it all (if I could just move the fence to look...kids go get a shovel!). I'll be anxious to know if you gain a 'testimony' from this. Have a Great Day!
Sincerely, Brenda

very funny!

Nice analogy! Hope your gold brings great garden results this summer! BTW, I posted on my site about the flour - don't know if answered your question though...
