pink eye

does anyone have any home remedies for this?  I woke up this morning with a swollen pink eye - and thinking back, yesterday this eye was not seeing as clearly (thought it was a spot on my glasses) and last night was getting kinda red - thought there was an eyelash inside.)
I do not want this to spread to my children (HA!  FAT CHANCE!) and since I have had it for a day, who knows that my kids aren't already infected, so we are NOT taking them to church were they can infect a whole host of PS kids.

the only question - where did I get it?  I am a homebody, haven't been anywhere recently.  went to my moms and the dentist on thursday, kids only to my moms.

anyway, any help is appreciated

What we do for pinkeye

Is rub neosporin on the eyelid.. not in the eye but by the corner of the eye and the eye lashes with one wipe so not to spread it anymore. Then wash our hands often. Now, I am not sharing this as a medical professional simply one mom to another. With ten children I have never had it spread from one of them to the next by doing this and it is normally gone within a day or so. I have shared this with many families and all have had great results. Let me know if it works for you too.

Pink-eye

That is a good idea about the Neosporin. One thing to remember is that not all eye irritation that resemples pink-eye *is* pink-eye (bacteria infection). We have had even viral (no need for anti-biotics there) or just inflammatory. You probably have already started treatment, but a good thing to keep in mind is an eye wash of 1/4 tsp salt to 1/4 cup of warm water. It is incredibly soothing, reduces inflammations, rinses out things that shouldn't be in there and you can use it as often as necessary for relief.
Good luck!

Pink eye passes by osmosis, I swear!! Bleh!! It's awful and the only true way to get rid of it is to get some antibiotic eye drops from the doctor. This is one of those things that you don't want to mess with as far as home remedies go. Just my opinion. Good luck. (((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))

Love ya~ Andrea
