Where was I?

I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with our first child, and I was enjoying (not knowing at the time that I was enjoying it! not until the second and third pregnancies, anyway) sleeping in and resting my changing body. We had been in our house 6 weeks, and I regularly read the internet news services every morning. except, I had stopped about a week or two before - nothing ever happened, why read it. So, I slept till 9:30ish, and when I got up for my day, puttering around, making breakfast, etc, I checked the phone messages. there were four. already. My husband, my sister, and my mom, twice. all telling me to turn on the news NOW. So I went down to the computer, only I could not access the sites beyond the homepages with the brief synopsis - too much traffic. I turned on the radio (then, as now, no tv) and heard people talking about being in the towers, etc, but I could not get a whole picture. I drove to my mom's house to watch the news. I remember driving in an eerily quiet world that Tuesday morning. At my mom's I turned on the news and watched the replay of the towers falling - it was already noon in NY by this time, and I could not believe it.that is where I was, and I also remember 3 weeks later when the president announced that we were bombing Afghanistan, and I thought, "They will not do this to us again.
