Am I a "an extremist. A world-is-ending nutcase. A conspiracy-theory-believing wacko?"
I don't know. Here is what I do know. I have never thought of myself as being exceptionally gullible. I do not believe in the conspiracy theories that have been bandied about as fact by some people. I guess if I had to think about it, I would say there is a conspirator - the Ancient Adversary of Mankind, Satan. And he is, no doubt, behind the freedom-taking moves in this world. But whether there is ONE actual physical human (or a small group of “conspirators”) being behind these freedom-taking moves... well, I doubt that. So, I do not believe in the “conspiracy” of a big conglomerate to take over the world (insert evil cackle here, a la “Pinky and the Brain”).
I do not even know if I believe in the One-Anti-Christ who will destroy the world. I think it will be a lot of powerful people trying to get what they want at the expense of others. And I think it will be facilitated by well-meaning people who have buried their heads in the sand, or in the television shows made to dull the mind and deaden the conscience.
But that being said, there are a lot of things coming to a head in the next few months and years.

my answer – they are trying to not be dependent on the establishment. They will not be helpless and totally dependent on the government WHEN things fail. What is it Dave Ramsey always says – something about being Broke invites Desperate and Stupid. If you are “broke” in food instead of money, you will be “desperate” and sign on for “stupid” government aid.

Why punish the small homesteader who is just raising enough for family, maybe a few surplus eggs to sell to neighbors, or a cow to give milk for the family for drinking or cheese. How does that hurt anyone? Only the family would be effected if there was a problem. Wouldn't logic say that they would be MORE careful about taking care of that animal than anyone else? The supporters claim this will allow tainted beef or chicken to be traced back to the source. But there is already mechanisms in place for this. Oh, this is not billed as something to destroy the small homesteader, but the cost of implementing all the necessary regulations will make it almost impossible for a family to grow their own livestock, or even have a horse or pet birds.

NAIS – Again, these people will not be dependent on the government or big corporations for their food and LIFE-sustaining needs WHEN things fail.

What about Monsanto, and their attempt to patent life? GM seeds and even (according to this article) pigs. Making everyone who grows a crop without permission (paying a royalty) a criminal. I have heard that they are even trying to take out patents on heirloom plants as well. Say farewell to saving your seeds for the next year. You will have to buy a fresh set every year. GM seeds that have been spliced with certain animal genes to resist certain diseases. They make it sound like a worthy goal – crops not subject to pestilence... ability to feed the world. But at a cost.

(now I am not necessarily a fan of greenpeace, but here we have a good article about food production, and Monsanto's attempt to patent all forms of food or life. And there are some links to other articles worth reading, like the farmer whose fields were contaminated by Monsanto seed from a truck spill, and he is now liable for patent infringement.)

And the latest: a bill to protect “the children” from the dangers of Chinese toys. Only, it effects ANY product made and sold for children under 12. It subjects all of these items to extensive and EXPENSIVE tests for safety. That means the homemade doll your MIL makes for her granddaughter. The cloth diapers made by a WAHM to sell on the internet. The receiving blanket crocheted by your neighbor to welcome your new baby. The all natural wood blocks bought at the farmers/crafters market. These small crafters working for love or small profit in spare time do not have the resources to pay for these regulations. Like NAIS, this bill hurts the small AMERICAN crafter and does nothing at all for the big toy manufacturer who is already subject to many rules and regulations.

I do not believe these examples are the result of a large conspiracy to take our freedoms away. But they are symptoms of the problem. Like a fever, chills, nausea, aches, etc are symptoms of the flu. Yes, we can take Tylanol for a fever, but that still leaves the chills, etc. to deal with; yes, we can stop NAIS (maybe, if we all work together), but the other encroachments on our freedom are still there. We need to stop the FLU – not the chills, not the nausea. We need to start saying NO to government intrusion for “our benefit” and “our safety.” These are not benefits, nor are they safe.

So, am I “an extremist. A world-is-ending nutcase. A conspiracy-theory-believing wacko?" You decide. But these things are happening. These examples are real. And I am scared.

I trust no one, and have taught my children the same.
The only one worthy of our trust, and true love, is Jesus.

I can take most of these stories, match them almost word for word in past history (Stalin / Hitler era) and show the historical results.........
I can take most of these stories and line them up with Scripture, and it paints a picture of the end...........

It is frustrating to see so many 'who call themselves His' with their heads firmly shoved 'into dark places'.....but Scriptures said this would happen!!

Scary stuff lady!!

It is very alarming, and the sadest thing is so many people that it will all affect are not aware of what is coming our way! I do not keep up with the news like I should, but am aware of these things and have been for some time. Thanks for sharing.
